What Can I Do?

Looking for ways that you can help elect more progressive candidates?  Here are some suggestions, depending on how involved you want to be:

From Your Home Computer:

  1. Make sure YOU are registered to vote!  Enter your name here to be sure.  If you are not, then get registered!
  2. Check on the registration status of your family and friends here.  If they are not registered, encourage them to do so (and to vote Democratic)!
  3. Connect to your local candidates via social media so you can see what they are up to.
  4. Write an editorial to a local newspaper or website about why you are supporting Democratic candidates, or a specific local candidate, or why you care about a particular progressive policy position.  If it gets published, send us the link so we can post it on our blog.

From Your Neighborhood:

  1. Whenever opportunities arise, try to connect your neighbors to this precinct and to the Democratic Party in Durham County.
  2. Invite neighbors over for a potluck discussion of local candidates or issues.  Make sure they are all registered to vote.

With the Precinct:

  1. We’ll have lots more to do closer to the 2020 election, but for now we need people showing up to meetings and contributing ideas to the party’s organizational efforts between election cycles.  Check the precinct calendar and show up!
  2. A huge piece of our efforts in 2019 will be to build understanding and access regarding voter IDs, so that voters are ready go to in 2020.  Stay tuned for more information.
